Moline Epoxy Flooring is an epoxy flooring company based in Moline, Illinois, with more than 20 years of experience grinding, repairing and coating concrete. We work on garage floors, basements, shops, plants, kitchens and storefronts on both sides of the Mississippi.

What we have learned in that time is simple: most floor coatings fail because of something under them. A slab that was never properly opened, moisture nobody measured or a crack that was painted over will undo even the best product. So our work starts below the surface, and the coating comes last.

Our Approach

A crew member hanging a coiled extractor hose on the wall of a small floor coating shop in a Moline industrial park.

Every slab we coat is opened with a diamond grinder or a shot blaster, never an acid etch, so the coating has a real profile to bond to. Before a price is final, we test the floor for moisture and map its cracks, spalls and old coatings. When a slab needs repair or replacement before it should be coated, we say so, even when that means a smaller job or no job at all.

Our proposals name the product line, the number of coats and the finished thickness, so you can check the finished floor against the paper. We explain what a coating warranty leaves out before you sign, starting with moisture, and we put in writing that a floor coating is not waterproofing or radon work. In basements, we read the floor for past water and check the floor drain and any sump pit first, because a coating does not stop seepage.

We schedule cures by slab temperature and dew point rather than the calendar, which sometimes means telling a customer with an unheated garage to wait for spring. Grinding dust is captured at the machine with a vacuum rather than washed toward a floor drain or a storm inlet. On commercial jobs, we phase the floor around shifts and opening hours, with overnight and weekend windows when a line or a kitchen cannot stop, and we plan kitchen floors around the food code and the plan review of whichever city or county inspects them.

We also keep the two sides of the river straight. On Illinois jobs, we use floor coatings that meet the state’s VOC limits for the person applying them; in Iowa, a low-odor product is a comfort and re-entry choice, and we never sell it as a legal requirement. Every quote says Moline, Illinois, and names the Iowa cities by their own names, because the rules change at the river.

What We Do

We install epoxy garage floors, flake epoxy floors, polyaspartic floor coatings, basement floor epoxy and metallic epoxy floors for homeowners. For businesses, we handle commercial epoxy flooring, industrial epoxy flooring, commercial kitchen flooring, ESD flooring and polished concrete floors. Behind all of it sits the preparation work, concrete grinding and concrete floor repair, that decides whether a floor lasts. If you have a floor in mind, request a free estimate and we will come test the slab, walk through the options and put a written proposal in your hands.
